NORTON, MA – Barry M. Schwartz, 59, of Norton, MA, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in Jupiter, Florida. Born in Fall River, the son of Isaac and Tylda (Golenpaul) Schwartz, both of Boynton Beach, Florida, he was the beloved husband of Nora (O’Halloran) Lavelle-Schwartz, and the former husband of Denise (Pineau) Schwartz of Taunton, MA.
Mr. Schwartz attended the University of Wisconsin, and Northeastern University. He was the owner for many years of the IZ Schwartz Appliance Store in Somerset, MA. He was a member of Temple Beth El in Fall River. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, bird watching and traveling.
Beside his beloved wife, former wife and parents, Mr. Schwartz leaves two daughters, Aimee Linker of Arlington Heights, MA , and Leah Schwartz-MacLeod of Rochester, MA; a step-daughter, Eileen Lavelle of Washington, DC; a step-son, Eric Lavelle of Medfield, MA; two sisters, Ginny Lepow of Newton, MA, and Susan Schwartz Livingston of Old Tappan, NJ; and a granddaughter, Juliana. Mr. Schwartz is also survived by his dog Blossom, his constant companion.
His funeral service will be held in Temple Beth El, 385 High St., Fall River, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Beth El Cemetery, Fall River. A Memorial Observance will be held at his late residence, 164 Godfrey Drive, Norton, MA.
