Floriene was born on September 2, 1919, near Durham, KS, the daughter of Andrew and Minnie (Schrader) Berg. She attended school in the Durham public schools for seven years and graduated in May of 1933 from Ashcraft Country School. On June 29, 1941, Floriene was united in marriage to Amos W. Rogers in Russell, KS. They enjoyed 72 years of marriage prior to his passing on June 17, 2014.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, McPherson, V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post #2715, and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #24. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, crocheting, quilting, & embroidery.
Survivors include: her son, Kenneth W. Rogers (Joan Berg) of Peabody, KS; friend & caregiver, Sheila Smidt of McPherson, KS; and numerous nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers, and three sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Valley View Cemetery, Roxbury, KS.
Memorial contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
