Clarice was born on February 3, 1930 in rural Zumbrota, MN, the daughter of Oscar and Martha (Koppang) Thompson. She grew up on the family farm in Zumbrota, and they later moved to Featherstone Township. She married Donald "Bob" Anderson on December 13, 1969 at Vasa Lutheran Church. They made their home in Welch Township, where they were active members of Cannon River Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school, active in ladies aid, and served as WELCA president.
Clarice loved reading, gardening, and animals, especially feeding her birds and cats. She also loved music and playing the piano. She will be remembered most for her devotion to her family, and her legacy of patience, giving, loving, and sense of humor.
She is survived by her children, Ellen (Mark) Hartman of Cannon Falls and Brian of Red Wing; grandchildren, Robert and Rachel Hartman; brothers and sister, Ray (Dorothy) Thompson of Prescott, WI, Luverne (Marilyn) Thompson of Hay Creek, Lois (Forest) Wipperling of Red Wing, and Maurice (Donna) Thompson of Independence, MO; sister-in-law, Louise Thompson of Eau Claire, WI; many nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald "Bob" on June 14, 1996; and brothers and sister, Oscar and Elton Thompson, and Marilyn Carlson.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 13 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 1-2 p.m., at Cannon River Lutheran Church, 10960 – 280th St., Cannon Falls, with Pastor Bob Berthold officiating.
Memorials may be given in Clarice's memory to Cannon River Lutheran Church.
