LODI, Nov. 13--Maurice E. Clancy, 71, of 615 W. Locust, son of a pioneer Acampo family, died yesterday in his home. His parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Clancy, settled in the Acampo area in 1886. Mr. Clancy was born in Acampo, and attended local schools and a Stockton business college. He later worked for the Shell Oil Co. plant here before serving in the Army in World War I. After the war, he operated the Lodi Steam Laundry, and then the Service Laundry, retiring in 1947.
Surviving are his wife, June; and his brothers, Cecil, of Lodi, and Elmore, of Acampo. Mr. Clancy was a member of the Lodi American Legion Post, the Woodbridge Masonic Lodge, the Ancient Egyptian Order of Sciots in Stockton, the Lodi Sportsmen's Club, ad served as secretary of the Lodi Sciots. He was general manager of the Lodi American Legion Building for many years.
