DAVENPORT — Funeral services to Celebrate the Home Going of Maria K. Harris, 49, a resident of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2015, at The Refuge Church (First Church of the Nazarene), 2921 38th St., Rock Island, Ill. Pastor David Brown will be the celebrant of the service. The family will greet friends at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport.
Maria died unexpectedly following complications of heart disease.
The Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Maria Karlene Harris was born March 25, 1965, in Gary, Ind., a daughter of Sishman and Clotee (Hankins) Harris.
She graduated from Sawyer Business College, Hammond, Ind., and attended Indiana State University, where she pledged Gamma Sigma Sigma. She had worked in the administrative assistant/secretarial field.
Those left to honor her memory include her son, Kameron; a stepdaughter, Miranda Crane; her mother, Clotee Harris; grandchildren, Mytayvia and Adrien, all of Davenport; siblings, Linda White, Gary; Karen Harris, Bettendorf; Mavis (Mark) Murphy, Merrillville, Ind.; Celena Dominguez, Gary; Monica Hill, Davenport; Angela (George) Almodovar, Gary; and Jesse Jones, Melvin (Claudette) Harris and Reginald Harris, all of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.
