Michael Delbert Atchison, 69, of Lumberton, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at his home with his loving family by his side. He enjoyed gardening and giving away his vegetables to his friends. He worked in auto sales and later, he was an assistant manager of the Pizza Hut in Port Arthur. He worshiped the ground his granddaughters walked on and he was a caring and generous person who was always there to help others. He was a person who no one didn’t like.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ila Atchison and Glenn and Faye Collier and a son, Richard Joseph Atchison.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sandra Gail Atchison of Lumberton; son, David Atchison of Lumberton; daughter, Karen Wolfe and husband Jonas of Friendswood; brother, Ronnie Atchison and wife Laverne of Old Salem; granddaughters, Jacey, Jordan and Jenna Wolfe.
His family will receive friends at Lumberton Family Funeral Home on Friday March 13, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 14, 2015 at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Trout Creek Cemetery.Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Atchison, Jonas Wolfe, Richard Montalvo, Josh Montalvo, Justin Montalvo and Rusty Navarre.
