Lester Coleman Turner, 87, of Blue Ridge, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Salem. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther A. Turner and Alma F. Turner; son, James C. Turner and brothers, Arlen T. and Albert Turner.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, member of V.F.W Post #4522 and the American Legion. He was formerly employed by Aerospace Research, Monticello Dairies, the University of Virginia and Lendy’s Restaurant.

Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Doris C. Turner; daughter and husband, Cynthia Jeane and Terry Huxhold; sister, Jvette W. Turner; sister-in-law, Patsy Turner; brother-in-law, James Edward Craig, Sr.; step-grandson, Michael Myers; and several nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Turner-Richardson Family Cemetery on Yellow Mountain Road, Roanoke. Bishop Scott Horchler will be conducting with speakers, Pat Dotson and Rev. Jim Steel.
