Sam Dickinson Adkins, 90, of Montevallo, Alabama, died on March 7, 2015. He served in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama and retired from US Steel in 1984. He was preceded in death by his wife, Saxon (Nix) Adkins; and brother, Col. Walter Adkins. He is survived by two daughters, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral: 11:00 a.m. March 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Rockco Funeral Home, Montevallo, Alabama.
