Grover, Robert E. "Bob" age 84, trumpeter extraordinaire, joined the "Big Band" in heaven on March 5th, 2015. He was born May 31st, 1930 to Earl E. & Viola (Guenther) Grover in Hot Springs, Arkansas. After he graduated from Minneapolis Central high school, he enlisted in the Army Air Force & proudly served his country in occupied Japan from 1947 to 1950. Bob was a salesman, Executive Vice President & General Manager of Minnesota Blueprint, formerly Minneapolis Blueprint for 45 years. Bob's love in life besides his family was his music & his trumpet. He was a lifetime member of the Minneapolis Police band; he was a member of the Masons, the Scottish Rite & Zuhrah Shrine Temple. He played in the concert band, the Zuhrah Flames & many other Shrine bands. He was the lead trumpet in The Johnny Williams Orchestra. Bob loved the outdoors; snowmobiling, motorcycles, camping, boating and fishing. He was still snowmobiling last winter at age 83! Preceded in death by parents, son, John T. Grover & brother, Earl E. Grover. Bob was dearly loved and will be missed by his wife of 44 years, Judi; son Wayne (Richelle); daughter, Roberta Reed; son Gary (Jean); 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons; 4 step grandchildren; 2 step great grandsons; sister-in-law Lucille Grover; nieces Linda & Lisa & their families & his beloved dog, Maxi. Memorials preferred to Shriners Hospital for Children or the family. Memorial service on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 11 AM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hanover, MN with visitation one hour prior to service at the church.
