He was born June 23, 1914, at Kitzmiller, MD, a son of Bruce and Mary O'Donnell Sapp of Independence.
Sapp was a metal worker at Republic Steel Co. in Ashland, OH.
He was returning home to visit his parents when the steering gear of the vehicle in which he was a passenger locked, causing it to leave the highway and upset. Two other men in the jeep, one the driver, were also injured. The mishap occurred about 6 a.m.
Sapp served in the Pacific area during World War II.
Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Joan Chipps of Morgantown, and Mrs. Mary Lydia Trickett of Independence; five brothers, Quintin of Gadsden, AL, John of Cleveland, OH, Benjamin of Reedsville, and Robert and Howard, both of Independence.
Burial was in the Sapp-Weaver Cemetery near Gladesville.
