Bettina Hendricks Jones lost her battle with cancer on December 11, 2011. She was 59 years old. She was born in St. Augustine but spent most of her life in Jacksonville. Bettina was a Robert E. Lee High School graduate. There, she met her high school sweetheart, Tommy David Jones. They were married 40 years. She is survived by her husband, Tommy; her two children, Adrienne Jones Baldwin (Charles London Baldwin) and Bryan Tyler Jones; two grandchildren , Carolina Grace Baldwin and Tyler London Baldwin; brother Raymond Lee Hendricks; brother-in-law, Albert Douglas Jones (Debbie); as well as her cousin's Shelia Greenleaf, Dana Cooper and Pam Clayton of St. Augustine, Judy Vance of Fort Lauderdale. Bettina was always a hard working mother and wife. She earned a B.S.N. degree from Jacksonville University while working as an R.N. for 20 years. She spent the last 10 years in Case Management at UF and Shands Jacksonville. During this time, she made many of her best friends while earning A.C.M. Designation. Bettina's genealogy made a significant impact in Northeast Florida. She is the great-granddaughter of Colonel William Mac Williams of St. Augustine, who was the President of the Florida State Senate in 1921 and 1922, and a lawyer for Henry Flagler. He gave generously to the Florida School of the Deaf and Blind. She is also the distant great-granddaughter of Isaac Hendricks who was a pioneer settler of the South Jacksonville area, hence the street name Hendricks Avenue. The family would especially like to thank Betty and Lyvone, the 4 South Staff as well as Pat and the Agape Baptist Congregation for support and love during this time. A memorial service will be held at Agape Baptist Church on Saturday, December 17 at 11 a.m. The church is located at 3880 Old Middleburg Road Jacksonville 32210.
