Stuart Clay "Tex" Duncan Sr., 75, of Marion, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 9, 2015, at Hospice House of Rutherford County.

He was born Jan. 29, 1940, in McDowell County, to the late Dallas Clay Duncan and Anne Clement McCall Duncan. Stuart was a member of First Christian Church in Marion and retired from Broughton Hospital as a LPN.

He also graduated from Citadel Military College in Charleston, S.C. and was a veteran of the United States Army Medical Service Corp.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Duncan.

Surviving Stuart are one son, Stuart Clay Duncan Jr. and wife, Aletha of Marion; one sister, Beverly Anne Monroe of Virginia; three grandchildren, Matthew Clay Duncan, Morgan Alexander Duncan and Madelyn Grace Duncan; and two great-grandchildren, Kendall Clay Duncan and Micah Caleb Duncan.

A funeral service will be held in the McCall Memorial Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Don Mitchell and Jessie Baker officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
