Floyd H. Root, age 87, of El Dorado Springs, Missouri, passed away March 9, 2015. He was born Dec.8, 1927 to Charley and Lula (Ryan) Root.
Floyd spent eight years in the Army, serving in Germany for about five years. On Feb. 24, 1954, Floyd married Muriel Reeves.
After working 20 years for TWA, Floyd retired in 1984. For 12 years, Floyd and Muriel enjoyed spending winters in Stanfield, Az. and returning to Missouri for the summers.
Floyd enjoyed fishing and hunting. The family went on many camping trips, and Floyd love being on the lake with his girls teaching them to water-ski and to fish.
Floyd was very proud of his Native American heritage. For 10 years he volunteered at the Clear Creek Pow-Wow south of Dederick. He also attended other Pow-Wows IN Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas. He was a member of the Gourd Dance Society. Life time member of the American Legion, VFW and Constabulary Organization.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Elizabeth Jo Moyer; five brothers: Paul, LeRoy, Marvin, Donald, and Rennie; and three sisters: Edith, Myrtle, and Edna.
