Born on Sept. 6, 1906, in Fayette County, he was the son of William J. and Allie (Martin) Simpson. On March 30, 1929, he married Fannie (Tuttle) Simpson, who survives.
Mr. Simpson had been employed for 17 years in the maintenance department at General Electric before retiring in 1971.
He was a former member of the Shelbyville Eagles Lodge No. 766.
Survivors include his wife, Shelbyville; a son John D. Simpson, Beech Grove; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, with the Rev. James Coulston officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
