ABINGDON, Va. Esther Akers Worley, age 88, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015, in the Johnston Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Worley was a long time resident of the Hayter's Gap Community of Washington County, Va. She was a member of the Main Street Christian Church in Saltville, Va. Esther retired as the Finance Officer of People, Inc. after 40+ years of dedicated service. Mrs. Worley was predeceased by her parents Branson and Voy Henderson Akers; husband Estell Worley and son Tony Worley. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Joan Worley of Abingdon; two granddaughters, Cyndi Worley Stein and husband Curt, and Kristi Worley Heath and husband Adam, both of Abingdon; four great grandchildren, Tyler and Connor Stein and Cora and Cassidy Heath, all of Abingdon; and sister Ruth West of Rogersville, TN. A funeral service for Esther Akers Worley will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Roger O'Quinn officiating. Interment will follow in Knollkreg Memorial Park where Curt Stein, Tyler Stein, Adam Heath, Israel O'Quinn, Morgan O'Quinn, Bobby Johnson and Eric Davis will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Chubb Arnold, Ed Moore, Kenny Morris and Ron Snowden. The family will receive friends from 6- 8 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015 in the Farris Funeral Chapel.
