Robert M. Palladine Sr., 83, of Solvay, passed away Wednesday with his loving family at his side, following a two-year bout with leukemia. Mr. Palladine served as vice president and sales manager of Syracuse Barber and Beauty Supply before his retirement in 1985. He proudly served his country in World War II as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a parishioner of St. Cecilia's Church and former president of its Holy Name Society, a former member of Tuscarora Golf Club, the Solvay-Geddes Veterans and a charter member of the Solvay Tigers AC. Mr. Palladine also served for many years as a member of the board of directors of Geddes Federal Savings and Loan Association. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, the former Frances Cassalia; a son, Robert M. Palladine Jr.; two daughters, Joyce (Richard) Kellogg and Donna Stein; two grandchildren, Kristin Harper and Matthew Stein; two great-grandchildren; and three brothers, John Palladine, and Raymond and Richard Palladino. Private funeral services were held for family on Saturday. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Cecilia's Food Pantry, 1001 Woods Rd.
