Rev John Brown was born at Little Cambridge, now Brighton, graduated Harvard College 1714; settled in the ministry at Haverhill, May 13, 1719. John was buried in the old burying ground in Haverhill. Notes take from the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Vol 6, July, 1852, page 272.
Rev John Brown, ordained May 13, 1719, died December 2, 1742, aged 46. As he was greatly esteemed in this life for his learning, piety and prudence, his removal is very justly lamented, as a loss to his family, church and country. He was an Israelite indeed, in whom there was no guile.
