Carl M. Larsen was born February 24, 1926 at Wentworth, South Dakota to A.P. and Mary (Larson) Larsen. He grew up on the Larsen farm helping his parents and brothers and sisters farm the land and caring for there livestock. He attended country school and later school in Wentworth. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War being stationed both in Korea and Japan. Carl was united in marriage to Dorothy Thompson on August 24, 1957 at Luverne, Minnesota,
After their marriage they farmed with the Larsen family and on there own for a number of years where they raised there only son Larry. The couple later moved into Madison. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church Wentworth, and the Wentworth American Legion.
Carl M. Larsen age 89 of Madison, South Dakota died Monday evening March 2, 2015 at the Bethel Lutheran Home. Funeral Services will begin at 10:30am Friday March 6, 2015.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife: Dorothy of Madison, a son: Larry Larsen, Wentworth, two grandsons: Logan and Landon, two brothers: Elmer Larsen, Winnemucca, Nevada: Gene (Betty) Larsen, Sioux Falls, South Dakota;as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and seven sisters and three brothers.
Funeral Services will begin at 10:30am Friday March 6, 2015. The Rev. Lew Christiansen, will officiate at the United Presbyterian Church in Wentworth. Burial will be in the in the Rose Hill Cemetery Wentworth.
