Rites For Nobles
Funeral services were held Monday in Chattanooga for Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Edward Noble.
Mr. Noble was the grandson of the founder of the City of Anniston, Sam Noble.
A native of New York City, Mr. Noble, 75, and his wife, Agnes, 74, died within a few hours of each other. He had been hospitalized for some time, suffering from emphysema.
Mrs. Noble, who underwent surgery last Tuesday for removal of a brain tumor, died Sunday morning, few hours after her husband's death.
Mr. Noble was a retired vice president of Chattanooga Medicine Co.
Survivors of the couple include two daughters, Mrs. W. E. Whittle of Chattanooga and Dr. Nancy Lee Noble of Miami; one son, Samuel E. Noble Jr., and five grandchildren.
