Funeral Mass for Albina "Beanie" Fojtil Tallas, 68, of Sugar Land, was celebrated Saturday, July 24, 2004, at 11 a.m. at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 115 7th Street, Sugar Land. Interment followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Rosenberg.

Albina was born June 10, 1936 in East Bernard to Fred and Albina Kubena Fojtik. She was a resident of Sugar Land for 50 years and a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, with membership in the KJZT service organization. She passed away July 21, 2004 at her home in Sugar Land after a courageous battle with cancer.

Albina is preceded in death by her husband, John W. Tallas; brothers, George Fojtik and William Fojtik; sister, Lydia Fojtik Kubena; and brothers-in-law, Ed Marik, Leon Hoffman, and John Kristynik.

She is survived by her sons, Edward Tallas of Rosenberg, Thomas Tallas and his wife, Leigh, of Orlando, Florida, and John T. Tallas of Terrell; life-long friend and companion, Eugene Bartosh of Rosharon; grandchildren, Amber Tallas of Iowa Park, Emma Leigh and Nikolaus G. Christmas both of Orlando, Florida; sisters, Rosie Marik of East Bernard, Annie Melnar and her husband, Benny, of Ontario, California, Margaret Petter and her husband, Eugene, of Schulenberg, Mary Jochec and her husband, Richard, of East Bernard, and Helen Kieke of Wallis; brother, Fred Fojtik and his wife, Adlena, of East Bernard; sisters-in-law, Beatrice Fojtik, of East Bernard, Mary Fojtik, of Sugar Land, and Dorothy Hoffmann, of Rosenberg; along with dozens of nieces, nephews and many friends.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to her care givers for their support and care during her illness. For those wishing, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the charity of choice.

Funeral services are under the direction of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. Rosenberg. 281-341-8800.
