Charles Richard Inman, 84, of Lookout Valley, died on Thursday, March 20, 2008, at a local hospital.

He was a graduate of Coffee High School and attended Tennessee Temple College. He and his wife Margaret served in many churches in Alabama and Tennessee, where he was a church starter and bi-vocational pastor.

He worked for TVA at Colbert Steam Plant, Ocoee, and Watts Bar for over 20 years as an administrative officer. He was a member of Lookout Valley Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Arrie Inman; brothers, James, Fred, Jasper, and William Inman; and his first wife of 45 years, Margaret Richardson Inman.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes B. Inman, of Lookout Valley; children, Charles (Kathy) Inman, Florence, Al., Phillip (Martha) Inman, Birmingham, Al., Diann (Al) Bennett, Milbrook, Al., Janice (Gary) Carter, Jasper, Tn., Deborah (Marty) O'Gwynn, Shawnee, Ok.; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Janet Counce, Chattanooga, Linda Seale, Chattanooga, Tommy (Jessie) Sue Henry, Tuscaloosa, Al.; six step-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Lookout Valley Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Lamar Moore and Rev. Troy Waliser will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery in Chattanooga.

A memorial service will be held at Valdosta Baptist Church, Tuscumbia, Al., at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Carter, Chris Inman, Bradley Inman, Matt Bennett, Drew O'Gwynn, Tim O'Gwynn, Scott Campbell, and Chris Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Jannell Campbell, Holly Inman, Renee Inman, Matthew Inman, Rebecca Bennett, Bevin Inman, and Bethany Inman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.
