Anna "Annie" Udell Waldrip slipped away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 to be with her lord Jesus Christ in heaven. Annie was born in Onida, South Dakota on June 30, 1922, the youngest of five children to Edward and Rena Cottrill. Her family later moved to Merrill, Oregon where she met her lifetime sweetheart, William "Bill" Waldrip. On January 18th, Annie and Bill celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary.

In high school she was involved in various activities of song leading, home economics, and glee club. Her senior year, she was a princess in the community Potato Festival. After high school, Annie went to work as a welder in the shipyards for the war effort and later became a dental assistant in Oregon.

Upon drawing a homestead in 1952, Annie and Bill moved their young family to Yuma. Annie joined other homesteading wives and formed the Yuma Mesa Homemakers' Club serving as president and other offices.

Annie was intricate in her daughters' involvement of Blue Birds, Campfire, and 4-H Club, having served as a leader and sponsor. She was a creative seamstress sewing for her family and home. She won a Betty Crocker bakeoff in 1956 and was famous for her lemon pie recipe which was used for the lemon pies served at the Yuma Homemakers' booth during the Yuma County Fair.

Annie dedicated herself to her family, helped Bill farm, and cared for the families who came to work on the farm. She fed and provided a home for all, earning the title of Grandma to them and their children.

Annie is survived by her husband, Bill; their three daughters, Mary Ann (Jim) Thompson, Patricia (Brad) Slezak, and Diane Jung. Annie is lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren, Laticia (Patrick) Merrill, Jerrod Thompson, Allison (David) Conway, Justin Chastain, Joshua Chastain, Marilyn (Jim) Emery, Stephanie (GW) Wagers; and eleven great grandchildren.

A celebration honoring memories of Annie's life will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the new Yuma Mortuary located at (the corner of 8th Street and 5th Avenue) 775 South 5th Avenue, Yuma.
