Brenda Navarro, lifelong resident of Throckmorton, Texas, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 5, 2015, at Throckmorton County Memorial Hospital. Brenda was 76. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church in Throckmorton with Rev. Jay Gage officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the services at Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Rosary/Visitation is planned for Sunday evening, March 8 at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Throckmorton located at 107 North Austin.

Brenda was born August 20, 1940, in Donna, Texas, to Eleno Escalon and Clara (Gonzales) Escalon. She was a member of the Catholic church. Brenda married Felipe C. Navarro on December 19, 1957 in Franklin, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eleno and Clara Escalon and three sons.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 59 years, Felipe C. Navarro; two sons, Franky Navarro and Johnny Navarro both of Throckmorton, Texas; one daughter, Ester Holcomb of Buffalo Gap, Texas; seven grandchildren; Brandi Canfield, Williams LaFayette, J.J. Navarro, Rebecca Navarro, Richard Navarro, Devon Navarro, and Eric Gonzales; five great-grandchildren; Caleb Canfield, Alexander Canfield, Colton Navarro, Casson Navarro, Marshell Navarro; five brothers, Dee Escalon, John Escalon, Tony Escalon, Joe Escalon, Ricky Escalon; and five sisters, Teresa Valdez, Mary Lou Cardenas, Mary Hellen Reyes, Sandy Escalon, and Sylvia Contreras.

Serving as pallbearers are family members, Jeremy Escalon, William Lafayette, Rudy Navarro, David Navarro, Marty Navarro, Alex Contreras.

Honorary pallbearers are, Ricky Escalon and Robert Holcomb.
