Two Graham residents are dead following a tragic car and church van accident Friday evening.

The wreck occurred around 5:30 Friday evening on Highway 337 at Turkey Creek just a couple of miles north of Highway 180, as a van from Faith Center Assembly of God Church in Graham was heading south on its way to a church event in Waxahachie.
Dead at the scene of the fiery head-on collision was 34-year old Jessica Lee Harris. The second fatality came during the overnight hours Friday when 40-year old Stacey Daily passed away from injuries sustained in the wreck. Ms. Harris was the driver of the car; while Ms. Daily was a passenger in the church van.
The driver of the van has been identified as 49-year old Kenny Weimer. There were also three other passengers on board, a 31-year old, two 15-year olds, a 14-year old, and an 11 year old. All of those in the van were believed to be wearing seatbelts, and were transported to various hospitals.
According to authorities, Ms. Harris was the sole occupant of the car and was trapped inside following the collision when it burst into flames.
The van came to rest on its top, and early reports indicate the collision occurred near the highway’s centerline. The investigation into this horrible tragedy will likely continue for quite some time.
