Antonia "Toni" L. Adams, age 66 of Chillicothe died on March 7, 2015 at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
Toni was born on September 1, 1948 in Peoria, the daughter of Vernon L. and Antonia P. (Fernandez) Jeffries. She married Marshall D. Adams on August 5, 2004 in Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are her father, Vernon L. Jeffries, Sr.; two daughters, Tammy (Randy) Grieder of Morton, and Donna A. (Jeremy Fenison) Fredericks of Clinton, IL; one son, Andrew Sorrenson of Chillicothe; five grandchildren, John, Emily, Lydia, Brittenelle. and Derek; and one sister, Betty Heath of Chillicothe. She was preceded in death by her mother and two brothers, Vernon Jeffries, Jr. and Jeff L. Jeffries.
Toni worked as a front desk receptionist at Pearce Community Center in Chillicothe, as well as ran the Meals on Wheels program there. She was known to all the kids in the after school programs there, as she would often pass out candy to them.
Toni loved to play pool, watch western movies, and especially loved camping at Condits Ranch in Putnam Co. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe and Pearce Community Center. She was also a former member of the Chillicothe Lions Club.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 10:00am at St Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe. Fr. Keith Walder will celebrate. Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 5-7:00pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe, as well as one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be held at Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorials may be made out to the St Edward Catholic Church Debt Reduction Fund and Pearce Community Center.
