Wallace Vivian Abercrombie was born October 21, 1882 the son of John and Sarah Abercrombie. He attended public school in Alexandria and after completing his education, he worked for his father who was the county surveyor. On March 22, 1905 he was married to Maud McKay. For a few years they lived on a farm in Hudson township, later moving to 716 Lincoln Ave. East in Alexandria. Mr. Abercrombie worked for the Manhatten Oil Company and was fish warden for several years. He served on the police force from April 1935 to 1955, when he retired due to poor health. Mr. Abercrombie passed away Tuesday, April 25, 1961 at the Douglas County hospital, at the age of 78 years and six months. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 3 brothers and one sister.
