Caroline Bergner was born in Jamtland, Sweden on October 5, 1885, the daughter of Sephanaius and Anna Linder, When Caroline was five years old her family came to the Garfield community. She was confirmed at the East Moe Lutheran church and was united in marriage to Ole Bergner. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Bergner farmed in LaGrand township.
Mr. Bergner preceded her in death on July 19, 1937.
Caroline has been a resident of Alexandria for the past twenty-six years. She passed away at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital Tuesday, April 2, 1968 at the age of 82 years.
She is survived by one daughter and two sons: Mrs. Roy Palmer of Alexandria; Sidney and Marvin of Alexandria; also surviving are six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; two sisters; Emma (Mrs. Herman Peterson) of Renton, Wash.; Helga (Mrs. Robert Jelsing), of Alexandria and one brother, Axel Linder of Alexandria.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 5, 1968 at 2 P.M. from the Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria, Rev. John Swanson officiating .
Interment was in White Garden Cemetery, Alexandria, Minnesota.
Pallbearers were: Walfred Johnson, Waldemar Johnson, Oscar Bergner, Robert Jelsing, Harry Gulson, Albert Magnuson.
Mrs. Leonard Blade, accompanied by Mrs. Clifford Peterson, Jr., sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "He the Pearly Gates will Open" .
