Matt was born April 13, 1976 in Arlington Heights, IL to Michael Grover and Janis Lou (Reynolds) Lewis. He grew up in St. Louis, San Francisco, CA and then moved to Olathe in 1980 and attended Olathe South High School. Matt moved to Lawrence several years ago, where he was an Assistant Manager at Pizza Hut. He was very talented and passionate about writing music and poetry and playing the guitar. He will be missed by family and friends.
Matt was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his father, Michael and step-mother Cynthia Anne Lewis of Raymore, MO; sisters, Lourinda and husband Andrew Passman of Olathe, KS, Alexandra Lewis of Raymore, MO and Elizabeth Lewis of Sioux Falls, SD and nieces, Carissa and Cathryn Passman.
