Mr. Jesse C. Vaughn, age 88, of Milner, Georgia passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Spalding Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Vaughn was born in Pike County on November 1, 1922 to the late James Patrick (Jim) Vaughn and the late Mattie Ella Wiles Vaughn.

Mr. Vaughn was preceded in death by granddaughter, Jennifer Bishop Hawkins; two sisters, Charlie Mae Vaughn Ross, and Mary Ella Vaughn; three brothers, Melvin Vaughn, Milton Vaughn and Merrill Vaughn.

He was retired from Spalding Knitting Mills. He was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church until his declining health prevented his attending.

He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army having served in the European Theater.

Mr. Vaughn is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margie Ross Vaughn; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda V. and Don Nail; daughter, Janice V. Bishop all of Milner; grandchildren, Jessica Bishop Prince (Tony) of Milner and Jason Bishop (Rebecca) of Sharpsburg; great-grandchildren, Austin, Ashley and Hunter Prince, Hannah and Bryan Bishop; brother and sister-in-law Douglas and Gerry Vaughn of Austell; brother, Allen Vaughn of Milner; sister-in-law Larris Vaughn (Gerald) of Milner, Ellen Vaughn of Williamson, and Daisy Vaughn of Jonesboro; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Jesse C. Vaughn will be conducted on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Monday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
