Mrs. Sutton was born in Cave Spring, GA on June 28, 1925, daughter of the late W. T. and Nonnie Dempsey Montgomery. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Julian Randolph Sutton on January 3, 2015, by 2 sisters, Lois Ellis and Hazel Montgomery, and by 4 brothers, Clement, Farris, Earl, and Hugh Montgomery. Mrs. Sutton was employed with the West Point Pepperell Mill Store in Lindale for a number of years and with other retail cloth stores prior to her retirement. A dedicated Pastor and Minister's wife, she was a member of New Bethel Congregational Methodist Church.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. Joyce Chapman, and her husband, Dr. Tommy Chapman, Hiram, and Mrs. Debbie Watters, and her husband, John "Doomer" Watters, Silver Creek; 2 sons, Julian R. Sutton, II, and his wife, Jan, Hiram, and Donnie Sutton, and his wife, Lori, Calhoun; 2 brothers, Glenn Montgomery and William Montgomery, both of Cave Spring; 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015, at 2pm at Rehoboth Baptist Church with her son-in-law, Dr. Tommy Chapman officiating and with other family members sharing. Interment will follow in Rehoboth Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 until 7pm. At other hours, they may be contacted at their respective residences.
Pallbearers are requested to assemble at Rehoboth Baptist Church on Monday at 1:30pm and include: Braden Sutton, Phillip Parker, Matthew Willis, Joshua Willis, Sam Ruff, Jason LeCroy, Julian R. "Randy" Sutton, III, Glenn Boatner, Donald Terry, and Terry Grisham.
