Mary was a 1943 graduate of Kokomo High School. Prior to starting a family, Mary worked for Delco Electronics. Then 25 years later she worked at the Howard County Court House where she served with several different offices. She was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church. Mary was also a member of the Phi Beta Psi Sorority and the Golden Girls. She was avid and active in the Indiana Republican Party of Howard County. She also volunteered for the American Cancer Society and enjoyed bridge, gardening, being with her family, shopping and traveling with sorority sisters to state and national conventions.
Mary is survived by her sons, Richard Brewster, and Mark (Kim) Brewster, both of Kokomo; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Brewster, and Kyle Brewster, both of Indianapolis.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Horace Brewster, daughter, Nita Jo Brewster, and brother, Richard Eikenberry.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Karen Altergott-Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:30-6:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the Main Street United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society’s Howard County Chapter.
