A private family burial will precede the service under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mr. McCoy passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.
He was born June 20,1944, in Tyler to Jess and Evelyn Brummett McCoy.
Danny was a lifelong resident of Tyler and had worked for Carrier Air Conditioning for 43 years. Danny loved to hunt and fish. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herman and Minnie John Tidwell.
He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 46 years, Gloria McCoy of Tyler; children, Cathy Thompson and husband Albert of Bullard, Kim Griffith and husband Brian of Flint and Danny Kyle McCoy and wife Heather of Flint; siblings, David McCoy and wife Jenny Sue of Tyler and Diana Wright and husband Bill of Whitehouse; brother-in-law, John Tidwell and wife Linda of Denton; grandchildren, Hailey Thompson, Jacob Griffith, Konnor Logan McCoy and Klaire Grace McCoy; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be John Mesick, James Hale, Chester Kennedy, George Skaggs, Ron Mineau, Idasee Daniels and Billy Gardner.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler.
The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. Donald Richards and the third floor oncology nurses and staff at Mother Frances Hospital.
If desired, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society , 1301 S. Broadway Ave., Tyler
