He was a former assistant manager at Walmart and Hermann Lumber in Springfield. David served his country with more than 20 years in the Army, serving two tours in Iraq, where he received a Bronze Star, two Army achievement medals and eight commendation medals. He had a passion for baseball, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a volunteer at First Tee in Fort Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Presley.
David is survived by his wife, Donna Beallis of Fort Smith; one daughter, Lindsay Presley of Springfield, MO; one son, Austin Presley of Springfield, MO; two step-daughters, Emily and Melissa Beallis both of Fort Smith; one step-son, Ryan Beallis of Fort Smith; his mother, Doris Presley of Springfield, MO; siblings, Jill Waxler and Debbie Edwards, both of Springfield, MO, Robin Hillenburg and her husband John, of Pleasant Hope, MO, and Amy Hart and her husband Ethan, of Tampa, FL, Darryl Presley and his wife Beth of Fort Smith, Ron Smithson and his wife Nancy Ellen, of Springfield, MO, Earl Dean Presley Jr. of Oklahoma, Debbie Andrews and husband J.E. of Springfield, MO, Judy Hyatt and husband Pat of Springfield, MO and Jeannie Lawrence and husband Carroll of Berryville, AR; and three grandchildren, Carson Triplett, Parker Redford, and Jace Redford, all of Springfield, MO.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, March 12, 2015, in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.
