Arlene was born in Shamokin March 7, 1936. She was a daughter of the late Irene (Haines) and William Nairns.
She was married to John Baran, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Baran worked in the cafeteria for Shamokin Area School District.
She was a parishioner of the former St. Stephen Church, now Our Lady of Hope Church, Coal Township.
Arlene is survived by a daughter, Cindy Boniscavage, of Girardville; a son, John Baran, of Coal Township; and a brother, Ronald Nairns, of Coal Township. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Hoover, and a brother, William Nairns.
