Larkin Burge was probably the son of Alexander Burge who fought in the War of 1812 along with Beverly Brown Burge and Francis A. Burge. Alexander Burge moved to Patrick County, Virginia and on to Stokes County, North Carolina around the late 1770's Larkin married Nancy Durham July 19, 1817. They were the parents of children, William H, Burge, born 1825, Mary Burge, born about 1828, Robert W. Burge born May 10, 1831, (in Virginia, a Civil War Veteran), Lockey Burge, born about 1835 (in North Carolina), Susan Burge also born about 1835 (in North Carolinia), and James Matthew, born about 1838 (in North Carolina).
