US Congressman. A native of Bay City, Michigan, he served in the United States Army during the Second World War. Elected to represent Michigan's 10th District in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1953 to 1978. He was also the Mayor of Bay City, Michigan, from 1949 to 1952. He passed away in The Villages, Florida, at the age of 88.
