Catherine “Jean” Collins, 82, of Athens, TN passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Life Care Center of Athens. She was owner of Roy’s restaurant in Etowah and worked in the City School system, cub scouts, and a Charter member of Unity Baptist Church. She helped many teenagers over the years and truly loved by everyone who knew her.

She was a daughter of the late Horace Ivan and Olive Pearl Adams.

Preceded in Death by her parents; step-father, Jerry Hatchett; brothers, Charles Frank Queen, John Allen Queen, Richard L. Queen, Jr., Horace Ivan Adams, Jr., Robert Lowell Adams; sisters, Eva Nell Queen Head, and Elizabeth Jane Adams Snyder Stewart; daughter, Jennifer Ann Collins Murphy.

Survived by her Husband of 63 years, Wayne Bruce Collins; Sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Wayne and Rhonda Collins, Steven A. and Tena Collins;

Daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine A. Collins Hale and George Hale, Debra L. Collins Everhart and Robert Everhart; son-in-law Mickey Murphy, 9 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, 2015 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Mark Latham officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2015 at the funeral home and proceed to Green Hill Cemetery for the 3:00 p.m. committal service. Steven Collins Jr., Philip Collins, Jason Masengil, Jonathan Church, Toby Shanahan and Brad Hester will serve as pallbearers.
