After a period of declining health, Annie Bruce peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Annie Bruce was born in Conetoe, North Carolina on August 3, 1926, the fourth child of Job and Ella B. Holland. Her brothers and sister included Billy Holland, Joe Holland, Jimmy Holland, and Sylvia Holland, whom she all survived. She was also predeceased by her sister, Irene Peters.

Annie Bruce married Ralph Franklin Caldwell in 1948 and had two sons, Mike (Lynda) and Bruce (Jean). She worked for many years at Edgecombe Motor Company, as the bookkeeper.

A lifelong baseball fan, Annie Bruce enjoyed watching major league games, even late in life. She delighted her grandchildren with her strong and forthright personality.

In addition to her sons, Annie Bruce is survived by a grandson, Daniel (Amanda) and two granddaughters, Cathryn and Laura Bruce.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, at Carlisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Tyson officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends and relatives at Carlisle Funeral Home on Saturday, March 7, from 12:30-2:00 p.m.
