James Thomas Privett best known as Blackie passed peacefully at his home on Thursday February 26, 2015. James was born to the late Epler Privett and Myrtle Mae Thomas Privett.

He served in the United States Army in Korea and received the Korean Service Bronze Medal. He retired from Atlas Plastics and served as a volunteer fireman in New Paris, Ohio and Centerville, Indiana. He also bartended at the Coney Island Bar in Richmond for many years.

James leaves to cherish his memory his daughter: Sherry Middleton Isaacs; his sons: Jerry Privett, Terry Privett and his wife Joyce both of Richmond, and Curtis and his wife Dawn Privett of Missouri; grandchildren: Virgil Cole Isaacs, James Martin Privett, Jennifer Maria Ryan, Lee Everett Privett, LaRae Privett and Terah Privett; sisters: Wanita and her husband Ralph Macomber, and Shirley Walker both of Florida; and his cousin Diane Lahman of Richmond.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Donnie Ray Middleton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 4, 2015, 11:00 AM, at Community Family Funeral Home. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Dayton National Cemetery. Send online condolences to the family at www.communityfamilyfh.com
