MR. SPENCER OF ROGERS DIES

Mitchell Spencer, 58, husband of Alta Bryant Spencer, of Rogers, died
suddenly at his home at approximately 2:50 a.m. Wed. March 24, of a
heart attack. He was a native of Lee County, a sawmill operator and
contractor, and former owner of Spencer's Grocery in Campton, and well
known sportsman in Wolfe and surrounding counties.

He was the son of the late William and Nora Venters Spencer.

Other survivors besides his wife include four sons, David Spencer of
Campton, James and Donald Spencer at Rogers, and Mike Spencer at home,
one daughter, Mrs. Wanda Whisman, Rogers, four sisters, Mrs. Malmarie
Combs of Butler, KY., Mrs. Golden Landsaw, Mrs. Gertha Evans, and Mrs.
Geneva Nickels, all of Middletown, Ohio, and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 26, at the Campton
First Church of God with Rev. Omer Spencer officiating. Burial was in
the Evans Cemetery with the Porter and Son Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements.
