Myron was the fourth child of John Russel Twiss and Anna Bentley. On 1 Jan 1871 in Mercer, Mercer Co., Pa., he married Amanda Wood Riddle, who was born on 6 Sep 1845 in Allegheny Co., Pa., a daughter of John Brice Riddle (b. 9 Oct 1806, Wolf Creek Twp., Mercer Co., Pa.; d. 5 Aug 1889, Mercer, Mercer Co., Pa.) and Catharine Douds (b. 1807, Oh.; d. 12 Dec 1896, Mercer Co., Pa.). (It is thought that at one time the Twiss family may have lived in the City of Allegheny, Allegheny Co., Pa., where Amanda was born, and in Oh.) Myron was a builder and carpenter. Amanda and Myron had four children—3 sons and 1 daughter—Chinella Robena, Walter Myron, Frank A. and Harry.

After their marriage, Amanda and Myron moved to Maquoketa, Jackson Co., Ia., where Amanda’s older sister, Margaretta Chenilla Riddle Waugh, was then living. In 1878, the Twiss family moved to Grundy Co., Ia., and on 9 Mar 1893, they moved to Norfolk, Ne., where they are shown at the time of the 1900 and 1910 Censuses, and where they were members of the First Methodist Episcopal Church. In 1915, they moved to Los Angeles, Ca., and in Aug 1927, they returned to Norfolk, where they lived with their daughter and where Myron died on 3 Sep 1927 at the age of 86. They are buried at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Norfolk, Ne.
