A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2015 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Rose Cemetery in Montrose with military rites. The visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. Francis in Teutopolis, followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary at 6:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the National Diabetes Association or donor’s choice.
Gene was born October 25, 1932 in Montrose, the son of Anna Frances (Deters) and Chris Nosbisch. He married Mildred C. Probst on April 27, 1957 in St. Aloysius Church in Bishop. Gene graduated from Effingham High School in 1950. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Council #2478 and the Fourth-Degree. He farmed the family farm his entire life. Gene was a man who lived his faith, loved his family and will be missed by many.
Gene is survived by his wife, Millie; daughter, Lynn (Scott) Calvert, son, Mike (Mindy) Nosbisch, son, Lyle Nosbisch and son, Chris Nosbisch; 11 grandchildren, Lindsey, Torey, Chad, Cody, Kelsey, Nikki, Eric, Zach, Mitch, Michael and Nicholas; three great-grandchildren, Ryerson, Beau and Paxton. He is also survived by his sister, Margie Probst of Teutopolis and his brother, Carl (Judy) Nosbisch of Elgin.
