Geneva Helen (Brooks)Pickens passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Geneva was born on June 17, 1927 in Slick Ok, to the late Dewey and Nancy (Wright) Brooks. Her family moved to Ripley Co when she was very young and she attended the Bennett school through the 8th grade. On August 1,1945, she married William (Bill) Pickens in Pocahontas, Ark. After Bill returned from the service, they moved and settled in Western Kansas. Geneva worked in the nursing homes and hospitals in Lakin, Kansas for about 25 years. She was very active in the churches she attended. She loved visiting with friends and spending time with their five children and their families.

In 1996, they moved to Doniphan,Mo to care for her mother. She is survived by 1 son, Eddie (Debbie) from Eureka Springs, Ar., 2 daughters, Elaine (Joe) Hollomon from Doniphan, and Louise (Wes) Drennan from Lakin Kansas, 1 sister, Juanita O'Dell from Joplin,Mo. 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill, 2 sons, Bob and Kenny, 2 grandchildren, 1 daughter- in- law, her parents, 2 sisters, and 1 brother.
