Mr. Conner, 67 years old, of West Palm Beach, Florida, died July 29, 1986 in the Veterans Hospital in Miami, Fla. Mr. Conner had been a resident of West Palm Beach since 1926, coming here from Wilcox County, Ga. He was a member of the Baptist Church. A veteran of World War II, he achieved the rank of Staff Sargeant with the 30th Infantry Division (Old Hickory Division) participating in the battles of Normandy, Belgium and Holland. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal and 2 Bronze Stars.
Survived by his wife Dorothy Johnson, two daughters, Sylvia C. Burns and Sheila C. Pickle, one granddaughter, Liane Burns, all of W. Palm Beach; brother Elbert A. Conner of Lantana; 3 sisters, Beatrice C. Black of W. Palm Beach, Allie C. Ellington of Kure Beach, N.C. & Ocia C. Fielder of Tampa, Fla. Mr. Conner was predeceased by his parents Lewis A. Conner & Susie Pearce Conner, 3 brothers, Edgar A. Conner, Loyal C. Conner and Erbert E. Conner, 1 sister, Faustine C. Johnson. NECRON CREMATION Services handled arrangements.
