Herald Coaster, August 17, 2000:

A funeral mass for Nellie Wleczyk will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Father Wencil Pavlovsky will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Larry Band, Rick Pettigrew, Larry Startz, Gary Macha, Terry Macha, Mark Wleczyk, and Scott Wleczyk. Visitation will begin after 4 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18, in the chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. (FM 2218 at Highway 59) in Rosenberg.

Nellie was born Nov. 2, 1900 in Chappell Hill to John Mazen and Mary Gorka Mazen. She passed away Aug. 16, 2000 at Fort Bend Nursing Home in Rosenberg. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mrs. Wleczyk was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, A.J. Wleczyk, Sr.; her parents; and 13 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Mar Startz and her husband, Leonard, Ella Macha and her husband, Johnny, A.J. Wlezcyk Jr. and his wife, Ester; her grandchildren, Shirley Pettigrew, Linda Band, Larry Startz, Gary Macha, Terry Macha, Mark Wleczyk, and Scott Wleczyk; her great-grandchildren, Shelly Stubbs, Jennifer Wright, Michael Pettigrew, Kelly Hubenak, Stephen Band, Dax, Reed, and Ross Startz, Jared, Taylor, Mason, and Davis Wleczyk, Tyler, Travis, and Makaylah Macha; and her sister-in-law, Helen Mazen.

The family thanks the staff of Fort Bend Nursing Home for the considerate care given to Nellie during her stay with them.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mrs. Wleczyk's name to Holy Rosary Catholic Church's "Keep the Vision Alive" fund or to the charity of one's choice.
