Funeral services for Charlie Vavrecka, 62, were held from the Triska Chapel in Rosenberg Thursday morning, Feb. 18, at 9:30 a.m. followed by requiem mass at the St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land at 10 a.m. with Rev. Norman Murphy officiating.
Mr. Vavrecka was born in Bastrop County on Nov. 1, 1902. He came to Sugar Land about 40 years ago. He had received his 35 years pin as an employee of the Imperial Sugar in Sugar Land. He passed away suddenly at Eldridge Memorial Hospital in Sugar Land following a heart attack.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Albina Vavrecka of Sugar Land; one son, Johnnie of Sugar Land; two daughters, Mrs. Roy Raska and Mrs. Wallace Seely of Sugar Land; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Jim of Sugar Land and Rudolph of Sealy; and four sisters, Mrs. Mary Janecek of Sugar Land, Mrs. Julia Truksa of Alvin, Mrs. Agnes Martin of Sugar Land, and Miss Angeline Vavrecka of Eagle Lake.
Pallbearers were Eddie Andrejczak, Albert Grohman, Walter Borowski, Stanley Borowski, Johnnie Davis, and Willie Mulisch. Interment was in the East Garden of Gethsemane.
