She married Jean Paul Coleman on July 23, 1999, in Bloomington, Indiana.
She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Indiana University. She was an active member of First Christian Church, Psi IOTA Xi, Order of the Eastern Star, and the Indiana University Alumni Association.
Burial at the Clover Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg.
