For a short time he was a door-to-door salesman and won awards for the most sales in his area. He owned and ran Tr-County Garbage Disposal before garbage pickup was taken over by the city of Peoria. He finally settled on a career in construction. Bill worked for over 30 years for Otto Baum Construction Co.
