Staff Sgt. Chad J. Simon, 32, of Madison, Wis.; was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, Madison, Wis.; He died Aug. 4 in Madison, Wis., while under hospice care for wounds sustained Nov. 8, 2004, in an explosion as he was conducting combat operations in Babil province, Iraq. Chad is survived by his loving wife, Regina; his son, Dylan; his father, Jerry Simon of Cuba City; his mother, Carol (George) Parham of Bradenton, Fla.; a sister, Stacy Simon of Bradenton, Fla.; his grandmothers, Eileen Simon of Cuba City and Aletta Harbort of Monona; aunts; uncles; cousins; a nephew; the Marine Corps Family; and close friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jerome N Simon.
