Joe C. Stanley, 71, of Bowling Green, formerly of Kuttawa and Paducah, passed from this earthly life into the arms of his loving, heavenly Father at 5:45 a.m. Feb. 19, 2015, at his residence. Cremation was chosen.
Joe was a son of the late Joseph L Stanley of Kuttawa and Lassie Lorene Perry Stanley. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, James Wesley and Jennie Lee Gregory Stanley and William Artie “W A” and Alma Rhea Creasy Perry; and uncle Dr. Charles W. and Eve Perry, all of Franklin.
He was a Simpson County native, a 1962 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School.
Joe was also extremely proud of his service as a Vietnam era Navy veteran and was a friend of Bill W. for 30 years.
His survivors include a brother, Perry L. Stanley of Kuttawa; and his special friends, Phil and Janet Stephens, Nick and Nancy Stevens and Jim and Martha Johnson, all of Bowling Green
A Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Hillvue Heights Church, 3219 Nashville Road, where he was a member. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service hour. Bro. Steve Ayers, Bro. Phil Stephens and Bro. Bryan Grigg will officiate. Interment of his cremains will take place at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church in Franklin at a later date.
Arrangement were by Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green chapel.
In lieu of flowers, Joe’s request was for donations to be made to Hillvue Heights Church Building Fund, c/o Mark Hale, 3219 Nashville Road, Bowling Green, KY 42101
